Orientation and integration service

Book a free appointment with our orientation and integration service, who will be able to answer your questions on topics such as:

Steps to take in your first months in Quebec and at the University
Social interaction in Quebec
Resources available to you

** Please note that no questions related to the immigration process can be answered during these meetings. If your questions concern immigration, please make an appointment with our immigration advisors via our appointment platform. **

Individuals eligible for our service:

Students in a study program, open studies, pre-university program, French language program (francization), or exchange program.
Students who are temporarily not enrolled (shut out from a program, on a leave of absence, had enrolment cancelled for administrative purposes, having status restored, changed program, etc.) and who want to take up studies again at Université Laval.
Students who have been admitted but have not started their studies at Université Laval – within 30 days prior to the start of their first semester.
Exchange students, from 30 days before the start of their exchange to 90 days after the end of the exchange.

Booking an appointment

Appointments are required to meet with us. Time slots are available 7 days in advance, and appointments last 30 minutes.

Our multilingual staff is available to answer your questions, provide you with information on university life and Quebec City, and help you find a place to stay. We will be able to guide and help you for a successful university and Quebec integration!

Come and meet us at Le Point, at the entrance of the Alphonse-Desjardins and Maurice-Pollack pavilions, to discuss with us, ask your questions, and get all the information you need at the start of the university session.

Information kiosk

On September 2, 6 and 7, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., come and meet our welcoming team at the outdoor information kiosk located at the intersection near the library and the two towers. We will be pleased to chat with you and answer your questions!

During the weeks preceding the beginning of the fall and winter semesters, new Université Laval students are invited to attend Orientation Lounge in the exhibit hall of Alphonse-Desjardins building (room 2470). You’ll find:

Computer stations with Internet access
Resource persons with information on university life and life in Quebec City
Information on your new identity card and the procedure to submit your photo
An opportunity to sign up for BVE Discover Quebec activities
Resources for finding a place to live
Starting place for the guided campus tour
Interactive conferences on a vast array of topics
Pizza lunch, followed by “board games” afternoon (no registration required)
a Quebec movie presentation followed by a group discussion (French only)
