The Bureau de la vie étudiante (BVE) invites all international students who will be starting their studies at Université Laval to 2 mandatory information sessions:

Before your arrival: what you need to know

The live pre-departure information sessions are now over for the fall session. You can watch the video to get all the information at your convenience!

In order to provide you with the best possible guidance and to suit your needs, especially concerning the insurance plan you will be enrolling in, pre-departure information sessions are divided according to your previous country of residence.

Duration: 60 minutes

Language of presentation: French or English

Content: information on clearing Canadian customs, airport services, finding accommodation, available services, mandatory insurance, registering for courses and much more!

Registration instructions

  1. Choose one of the information sessions below according to your previous country of residence, availability and the  language of presentation you prefer.
  2. Click on the link of the session that suits you.
  3. Add a ticket to the shopping cart and click on “Proceed to Checkout.”
  4. Fill out the form with your email address. A confirmation email will be sent to that email address. It will include instructions on how to join the session slot you chose.

Virtual session on Zoom 

Make sure you download the Zoom application to your computer or cell phone, or that you are able to use the web version of Zoom.

Please note that the information session starts at the time indicated (Quebec local time). It is your responsibility to be logged on to Zoom at the scheduled time.

Cost of studies in Canada: Get prepared!

Life in Québec and Canada as a student can be a lot more expensive than you thought! Although the Government of Canada requires a certain financial capacity to allow you to study in Canada, you’ll soon realize that you’ll need to secure more funding than you originally planned.

The Bureau de la vie étudiante, in collaboration with the Bureau des bourses et de l’aide financière, offers you the opportunity to be well informed by attending the presentation Cost of studies in Canada: Get prepared!

Duration: 30 minutes

Content: this presentation will cover pitfalls to avoid, living expenses and tuition fees, installation costs and one-time purchases, as well as credit card use.
