Whatever the length of your stay, finding suitable housing is important.

Finding affordable housing that meets your needs can be a long and challenging process, given Québec’s current housing crisis. You should consider all your alternatives and options before arriving in Canada.

On-campus housing

  1. Register on the waiting list for residences if you are interested in this option. We strongly recommend that you do this before you arrive in Québec, but you can still sign up for the waiting list when you arrive if you have not done so before.
  2. Contact Residential Services to find out about your place on the waiting list via the Service Desk.

Temporary housing while waiting to find a permanent place to stay

These options allow you to stay for a few days while you look for permanent housing.

Take out home insurance

Whether you live in a residence or an apartment, a home insurance policy not only covers your personal property and your building, it also generally covers your third-party liability, i.e., any damage you may cause to others or their property.

Services of the Centre d’aide aux étudiants (CAE)

If you are experiencing stress or emotional distress due to your personal situation, contact your faculty or residence outreach worker.

Log in at the bottom of the page using your IDUL and password. Then select Intervention de proximité. You can then choose the type of intervention (remote, by phone or in person), and make the reservation with the outreach worker. You can also find the contact details of your faculty-specific outreach worker.
